Title : The Leader of the Generation Volume I Category : Biographies of our hajamin
Description: Throughout these two volumes, the life of the great rabbi Marán Menachem Man Shaj, Ztz”l, is narrated. The author Tzira Karelshtein, in great detail tells us anecdotes, experiences and actions of this great character who was born in the north of Lithuania, in the year 5655 (1895). At a young age, as a child, he was miraculously saved from being run over by a cart without suffering any damage. This event will mark his life giving thanks every year between Yom Kippur and Sukkot for the miracle of having come out alive. From the age of 7 he showed great scholarship in his Torah studies. Later, being a young man of 13 years old, he moved to Slobodka to the Yeshiva Knesset Israel where he continued to grow in his study. Pretending to return home, he realizes that he lacks money for the trip, but he also finds himself involved in the difficulties of the war. He thus receives a letter from his mother telling him not to return, because his place is in the Yeshiva. Here begins his walk as Rosh Hayeshiva. All the rest of his life as Talmid Hacham is found in this long and gripping biography.
Because I recommend it : In this biography you will find valuable teachings to face the difficulties of life. In addition, it will be an inspiration to study and grow on the spiritual path. Rabbi Shaj himself left it saying "Thus... I ask those students who got some benefit from me, whether in Torah, in Fear of Heaven, or in qualities, let them do me a favor and study for the elevation of my soul even one Mishnah, or some good moral thought, and this will be my payment…"
